Reading your post, I do agree with you on the fact, that people suffering from chronic health issues have limited access to the medications they need, thanks to the affordable healthcare act, however, one area that needs to be pushed for total coverage is that of heart failure under cardiac rehabilitation program of Medicare. The identification of an issue or problem is the first step in the Kingdon’s model. The main problem on which the policy related to coverage of heart failure under cardiac rehabilitation is based is the disproportionate increase in the incidence of heart failure and tremendous growth in the aging population because the majority of them are suffering from heart failure. The increased attention to an issue or some major events can release the problem stream. Do you or your hospital advocate or plan to advocate for these group of patients?
