BP: Annotated Bibliography Assignment

The ultimate goal for this term is to use the concepts, ideas, and principles learned through our course materials to prepare a briefing paper that addresses a key issue. The first step toward your Final Briefing Paper was the preparation of a thesis statement and brief outline. The next step in the process is to prepare an annotated bibliography that provides an overview of key sources you plan to use in writing your paper. As with other assignments, a key element of this assignment is reading and synthesizing large amount of information and presenting in a succinct, clear manner. Another key element is research. While US News, the Washington Post, and the New York Times may have articles related to your topic, they are not scholarly sources. Instead, look for content from academic and subject specific journals (i.e., Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy). This assignment will assist in strengthening your research and writing skills as you search for academic material to write clear, succinct summaries about each source.InstructionsYou will review your chosen Briefing Plan Topic Proposal and prepare an annotated bibliography that includes a minimum of 10, but no more than15, scholarly, empirical, current sources (since 2000) that are directly related to your topic.Sources can include the various scholarly books and journal articles that have been assigned as part of the weekly readings throughout the course. Use the link to the Liberty University Research Portal in the assigned reading this module to obtain additional journal resources. Be sure that you select a variety of respected sources.For each annotation, you will give a description of the value of the source for the Final Briefing Paper, as well as of the author’s credibility.Items to include are outlined as follows:· Number of Annotations: a minimum of 10 but no more than15· Length of Annotations: 250-280 words each· Format of assignment: Current Turabian Format· Acceptable Annotations: any course assigned readings, scholarly articles, empirical journals, published within the last 20 years that are directly related to the topic.
